Detroit Heights Robichaud held off Western Wayne Athletic Conference football rival Redford Thurston 34-32 on Friday, Sept. 17, at Robichaud.
Robichaud improved to 2-1/3-1. Thurston fell to 0-3/0-4.
Thurston got on the board first on a 12-yard touchdown run by senior JeRon Bradley. Senior William Rhinehart connected with sophomore Echie S. Kemutambah for the conversion to give the Eagles an 8-0 lead.
Junior Terrence Perkins intercepted a Rhinehart pass and returned it 60 yards for a touchdown. The conversion failed, making the score 8-6.
Perkins got his second interception of the game and returned it to the 35-yard line. Senior Jaylen Carter then tossed a 65-yard touchdown pass to junior Damaurie Patrick to put Robichaud up 12-8 at halftime.
Carter connected with Perkins for three touchdown passes in the second half. Perkins finished with 350 all-purpose yards.
Robichaud travels to Redford Union (3-0/3-1) on Friday, Sept. 24.
